M.A.N.D.Y

    M.A.N.D.Y

One electronic duo, two different characters; Patrick Bodmer and Philipp Jung are DJs, remixers, producers, and label-operators with world-wide expertise. Traveling together and solo for years, they belong to a rare breed of musicians within electronic music’s ever-evolving landscape, and are pop-stars in their own right. Having founded their pioneering, independent label Get Physical alongside Thomas Koch aka DJ T. and Booka Shade in 2002, the duo soon went on to release a string of stand out releases including their remake of Laurie Anderson ‘O Superman’ and most notably their influential single ‘Body Language”’ to acclaimed global success, whilst remixing the likes of Roxy Music, Röyskopp, The Knife and Underworld to name just a few. As such, their world-wide DJ-performances have taken them to all four corners of the globe, gracing the decks at internationally renowned clubs and festivals alike. In November 2016, after intensive preparation, Jung and Bodmer released their debut album ‘Double Fantasy’. Guest-musicians such as Bam from the New York hip hop crew Jungle Brothers, the South-African vocalist Nonku Phiri, or the classically trained pianist Francesco Tristano from Luxemburg, and production sessions with Jimmy Valance from Bob Moses in Brooklyn stand once more as an example of M.A.N.D.Y’s forward thinking and multi-cultural approach across both their own releases, and the material released via their Get Physical imprint. 2018 signalled the beginning of a new era for M.A.N.D.Y, and during Jung’s temporary hiatus away from music, Bodmer will continue to fly the flag for the pairing under the M.A.N.D.Y. alias, bringing with him a slightly altered ethos and vision. With a fresh focus on taking things back towards the club, Bodmer’s initial foray welcomed the release of a series of re-worked singles which will in turn combine to complete his ‘Double Fantasy Reworked’ LP this June, with each track from the duos debut LP given a new direction and lease of life. This change in direction will also be evident within his own DJ sets, whilst new collaborations and projects alongside the likes of Dubspeeka, Audiofly as M.A.N.F.L.Y and more are already confirmed. What lies next for Bodmer’s own creative vision of M.A.N.D.Y is yet to be revealed, however, the legacy of both his and Jung’s illustrious project looks set for yet another exciting chapter in its prominent and longstanding journey throughout the year ahead and beyond.
